"I think initially, it was a battle -- should I do it or not. Once people started to catch on then it was really sort of a paradigm shift. People weren't fighting the procedure anymore, they were thinking how they could do it better. Then you had the really good minds of the people in the field putting their energies towards improving the technique. Over the last 11 years, the major things have been the recipient sites getting much smaller and the microscopic dissection getting much better. Because the sites are smaller, the graft numbers are getting much bigger. I think that also, in the old days, the procedure took so long that many people never got to see their long term results.
