Patient BTI had two hair transplant procedures in 1993 using large grafts. The sessions left him with a pluggy look and a very unnatural hairline. The repair was accomplished with a series of 4 camouflage sessions from 1996 to 1999 using a total of 4,768 follicular unit grafts. Today, the correction would have been accomplished by excising the abnormal grafts prior to the camouflage. This would have reduced the number of follicular units needed for the hair restoration and allowed the hairline to be placed slightly higher. Patient BTI has written a letter to Dr. Bernstein which we have posted on our Letters from Patients page.
